It's time for a change, I think!

Hey everyone! For my Canadian friends, I hope you had a great day off yesterday. I did: I had cold KFC chicken for lunch (the best!), ate about 10 Creamsicles, sat on my couch and watched The View in my underwear, called the police on a creepy guy who was getting wasted and staring at kids play in the park (it was like Law & Order: SVU. He looked like the kind of perp who would get his ass handed to him by Ice T), and then finished a V.C. Andrews book before bed. Not too shabby. Anyways, to my 'Merican friends, hope you enjoyed TDLLGOOJAWTR (the day Lindsay Lohan got out of jail and went to rehab). It seems like that was the only thing that the news was really reporting on yesterday; I mean, really - why do we care so much? I'm sort of sick of people reminding us every 3 seconds that she's a great actress. Um, high low! Name something other than Mean Girls that shows her talent please. I Know Who Killed Me and Chapter 21 and Herbie Fully Loaded do not a great actress make. Oh yeah, and Labor Pains. Remember that dog-barf? Anyways, let me get to the meat of this Hamburger Paragraph.

I was re-reading a few old posts on here and I noticed that, while I like the layout and look of The Skip-raid, I would also like to see a bit of a change. Namely, the banner. Yes, the good ol' picture of garbage cans has been with us for 3 years now and it was lovingly designed by faithful reader, friend, and cat-lover Jenn L. When she designed it 3 years ago, it was for fun and cost me $0, but now that she's a big-time graphic designer, something like this would tip the scale at $400 and I just don't have that kind of money to spend on something other than Taco Bell. So. I was just thinking, why not hold a contest to find the next banner for The Skip-raid? Everyone wins! All you need to do is create an amazing banner for me and I will mail you a prize. Now, I haven't figured out what the prize is yet, but I promise it will be good. Very good, even. It definitely won't be garbage! There will definitely be an illustration of something cool. So here is what I need:

- a banner the same size as the one above (or a different-y shape, I don't mind none)
- try to keep it medium-res (not huge please and not too small!!!)
- send it as a jpg file
- mail it to skipraid@gmail.com

You can use any medium you want, any images, words, type, pictures, whatever whatever, but it has to look SO FLY. Hell, make as many as you want, too! After I receive a bunch, I'll tell you to stop sending them in (or give you a deadline) and then the best one will get an amazing thing mailed to them (you can give me your address when you win). And remember - I'm a Canadian living in Toronto, so you could always ask for some cool Canadian shit or something super Chinatowny or maple-y.
